The Simon Fraser University Lost
and Found is located in Security and
Information, TC 050. Clients can inquire about
lost items between 7am and 11pm Monday to
Friday.
Checking for Lost Items

You can also browse the Found Items list
recorded by Lost and Found to search for your
item. Please note that the items on Lost and
Found list are only general
descriptions. If you view our Found Item list
and a general description matches your lost
item, you will be required to provide a detailed
description to assist us in correctly
identifying the item. You can check with our
Lost and Found Clerk in person, by email or
phone to determine if the item you lost is a
possible match to our records.
Reporting Lost ‘Valuables’
Keys, Wallets and Jewelry, you may email the
Lost and Found Department and leave your name
and contact information. If any items arrive at
Lost and Found matching the description
submitted, our office will contact you to
attempt to verify a possible match.
Retrieving & Identifying Lost Items
If the lost item has been in the Lost and Found
reception for a period over 24 hours, the item
will be moved to our secured facility. If the
item you have lost matches a description with
our records and has been subsequently stored,
the item will be retrieved by 2pm the following
business day. Once the item is retrieved from
secured storage it can then be determined that
the found item is a possible match to your lost
item. Clients can inquire by phone at (778)
782-5451.
Lost and Found Obligations
Found items are held for a minimum of 90
including jewelry, wallets and money with the
exception of clothing, to which are held for a
minimum of 30 days. Once the minimum date to
hold found items has passed, items will be
donated or disposed of according to the SFU
Standard Operating Procedure 2.5.
